I was suprised by the Garmin portable friction mount. Things like this that I’ve tried before wind up slipping around
and not working well. This piece really works, I doubt that I’ll ever use the provided windshield mount. This thing hangs to whatever it’s put on, the dash , your knee,or the center console. Its use is a satisfying experience.

Ordered product and paid with one-click system. Never received the product, I emailed the seller and did not even receive the courtesy of a repsonse. Congratulations, seller — you account my first bad experience in purchasing something online. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Garmin Portable Friction Mount is great for applications requiring portability, such as using the same GPS in different cars. For us, it replaces a windshield mount. Advantages of the friction mount are faster setup and takedown, no occasional unwanted separation from the windshield and no marks on the windshield. It can be placed most anywhere on the top of the dashboard, and is very stable. The only disadvantage is that stability comes at the price of it being somewhat bulky.

I am anti Apple, but I had my Kindle way before Ipad was a thought. I must say though that this Kindle broke the mould though. This here is a device so light and easy on the eyes it makes reading for hours so much easier. Looking at an Ipad for too long with the back lit screen is not good for the eyes. Have you tried taking the Ipad or most any other electronic device out in the bright sun light and had a hard time reading or even seeing the screen, NOPE not with the Kindle here.

Best of all it features 3G built right into it that allows you to connect to wireless cell networks at no additional cost. WHAT’s that again? Yep I said it not additional cost. Unlike the Ipad you have to pay to download wirelessly on a plan. Of course they have wi-fi out now but you have to be in your own home or at a hot spot to get that free service. With the Kindle it makes shopping for books so much easier, and oh by the way it’s also INTERNATIONAL too of course it won’t work in some countries but heck it has great area coverage in most others.

I am not for sure of the battery life of the Ipad but I can rest assure that it will not beat out the battery life of the KINDLE because of the fact that the screen isn’t back lit and it’s not consuming much power to operate I can go off a single charge for over a month that will give me power for almost a month or 2.

The price you pay too isn’t as steep as the Ipad is grossly expensive especially when you have to pay for the monthly service fee to use the network.

GO KINDLE,

Oh I sure hope the eventually drop the prices of their books. I can’t blame them, if anything blame APPLE!!!!!!

I couldn’t put this book down. A fascinating perspective of the Civil Rights movement in the ’60s. I bought an extra copy to pass among my friends. Any parent who wants their children to understand the relatively recent history of the southern African American should encourage them to read it.

I got this lens a year ago from Amazon for a little more than sevenhundred, much cheaper than today price. Somehow HSM is not implemented on Minolta or Sony mount so AF is a little bit slow on my Sony Alpha A200, not super fast like on Canon or Nikon mount. Couple with 1.4X extender, I tried to take some birds but AF is slower than w/o the extender, I got like 50% of success rate. Chromatic aberration is visible if 100% crop. So my experience with birds were not very successful, but I used this lens to take my wife portraits and it did a good job. Colors were vivid and pleasing.
I think I used this lens wrongly for bird photography, I know that Canon 400 2.8 is good for that, but hey it cost maybe 5 times this lens cost. Overall I like this lens and I will keep it for a while.
