I love fantasy. Have read and re-read Harry Potter countless times. But I am by no means unable to enjoy reading other fantasy books. I loved the Bartimaeus trilogy and then someone told me about this series and I jumped right in. This being the 1st series in the novel, was a great read. I am not giving it 5 stars. The 1st book of most series aren’t necessarily the best. You get to know the basic plot and characters of the series and hopefully the following books will build on this even better. Artemis character is very very interesting. As is Butler and Holly. For those of you with active imagination, you won’t find it hard to visualize the “people”. It is a book about a 12 yr old but certainly not limited to readers of that age. I am excited about this series and I recommend it for people who are looking for a new fantasy series to read. This one is different from Harry Potter because half of it is set in our world with normal people. Artemis is a genius but posseses no magic or superpowers . The writing is lucid and very easy to read. The book is absorbing, couldn’t stop turning the pages. Seems less emotionally intense than Harry Potter, but that’s not a bad thing at all.

In 1965 we owned a bait and tackle shop in Venice, Florida. At that time the Ringling Bros. Circus wintered there and we became acquainted with many circus people. Our shop was a hangout for them and every evening after rehearsals they would stop by for a beer.
The book: “Water for Elephants” is extremely well written and I am planning to read more of Sara Gruen’s work.
I have ordered two more copies and given them to friends. They have given me very good reports.

Battery life is amazing…
It’s just OK for me, but the wife and kids love it. Lots of fun, exercise and entertainment. It’s hooked up to the big screen and WiFi so they also watch movies and shows with NetFlix on it.

bought a couple of these cables to tie my blu-ray player, denon receiver, hi-def cable box & hdtv together. great resolution for a great price. don’t get ripped off by best-buy, etc. these cables are great for hdtv and you don’t need to spend a lot for high quality digital signal.
Baby Shower Gift Idea
I bought the furminator after adopting a lab/shepard mix from a rescue group and found that just brushing her left her shedding all over the place. I bought this little tool and fell in love with it. It removes so much hair and the dog loves it. I also tried it on my parents two cats and they love it also. One will tolerate a wire brush but never near his stomach and chest, but with the furminator he starts purring after one or two strokes. Sometimes it was difficult to get his back and sides because he kept rolling over and wanted the furminator used on his chest and belly. The amount of hair that came off the cat was amazing, hopefully this will help reduce his shedding a bit.
I do have to agree with other reviews I’ve seen and do the brushing outside where one can sweep up the hair, this is true more so with the dogs just because of the larger bodies but one probably wants to have a trash can nearby when even using the furminator on a cat, the amount of fur cleaned out of the undercoat is just astounding.
Baby Einstein Teeth Tug
I bought this book searching for action and fun, not a dreary story about how some scheming, horrible kid captures and practically tortures a fairy for money. Near the end of the book, I was hoping the fairies would win and wipe out the inhabitants of the Fowl Manor, especally the evil (and somewhat bratty) main character.
Some of the writing was confusing,too. I’ll never understand how the blue-rinse didn’t work. The sleeping pills were for the stopped time! I’m planning on reading the next book, and I hope it’s not as disappointing and depressing as this one.

Pampers Sensitive Baby Wipes
I got a new laptop with HDMI output, which was awesome considering I was using the RGB connection to connect to my flat screen TV before. Anyway, I was looking in Best Buy at their CHEAPEST cord, which was $30. I found that to be outrageous, as I’m not a diehard HD 1080p or whatever kind of person. I found this cable, and for the amazing price I bought two based on good reviews, not expecting a whole lot.
I was wrong, these are great! Clear audio and video and no problems whatsoever. I can’t imagine the $30 or even $60 cords being so much better that you could justify the price. They just use fancy words like gold-plated connectors (which these have anyway) and super high speed or some other mumbo-jumbo. The people that buy those are the same people that buy $400 Blu-Ray players thinking they’ll be far superior than the $200 ones.
I highly recommend these cables, and you cannot beat the price.
