“The Help” is a heart-wrenching, tear-jerking, emotional tale set in Mississippi, in the 1940s-1960s, when Mississippians weren’t as “educated” and “progressive” as the rest of the world. What makes this such a phenomenal read is the uniqueness of the relationships of the three women and Stockett’s ability to tell this amazing story from each of their distinct perspectives. She intertwines historical fiction with a realistic tale of morals, humanity, perseverance, and overall human relationships filled with love, hate, and everything in-between. This was a masterpiece!

Personally I don’t see what the big deal is with this series, first off we’ve got Edward Cullen, a shoe in for stalker of the month reward and definitaley the kind of guy a girl would put a restraining order on. On top of that the guy is emotionally abusive and borders on being physically abusive, he’s like one of those guys that beats his girl, then tells her he didn’t want to do it, but she made it happen and he can’t control himself. Then we’ve got Bella Swan; the poster child of the Mary Sue of fanfiction, the perfect girl who’s only flaws are small things that don’t detract from her looks, but she feels she doesn’t look good, yet every guy in her new school wants her and every girl wants to be her friend. But Bella has her eyes set on Edward, the vampire (we’re not supposed to know this but the big secret is in the synopsis on the back) and the hottest guy in school. We learn every detail of Edward’s glorious physical features (something we hear a lot) and the passion flies.

Bella being half retarded and incapable of cognitive thought cannot comprehend the fact that Edward seems mysterious and completely stopped a car from hitting her, but he’s the man of the situation and when he tells her that didn’t happen you’re damn straight Bella is going to go with. Then we get some more of Edward and his awesome features, some eye to eye contact, Edward saying when he met her he wanted to kill her but declined his instincts, then we get some glittery vampires, vegetarian vampires, a future love interest under the name Jacob. Who is actually the only decent character in the story, but Bella won’t take him, why? Cause he actually cares about her. The story goes on not much happens then a little plot shines through, people want Bella dead, I’m not sure why, Edward defends blah blah blah. Fin.

Then the sequels, they get worse, nothing beats the birthing scene in the final story, but that review is for a later time. All in all Twilight has to be the worst piece of garbag

The card seemed to work fine in a point and shoot camera however it is not compatible with the GoPro HD Hero series video cameras. The symptoms you will see are corrupt video files, video recordings that stop by themselves, or ‘SOS’ on the camera display. Switched to a brand recommended by GoPro (Kingston or Patriot) and the problem went away. I hope this saves someone else the extra expense and time consuming troubleshooting I experienced.

I think it was a decent first novel. It definately had some flaws.

Both of my grandmothers were domestics, one in New Jersey with and one in Louisiana. Stockett got a lot of things right – the separate dishes and bathrooms, giving maids old clothing, etc. I think she did a good job describing the complex relationship – but like other reviewers have said, there was lots of telling rather than showing how complicated, awkward, hostile and interdependent the relationships were.

She barely managed to avoid the Mammy stereotype with Aibileen by giving her a more in depth story about her son, but I would have liked to see her more fleshed out – I mean, did Aibileen have a love life? What about her friendships? We’re given all sorts of details about Skeeter and her life outside of the book, but Aibileen and Minny only scratched the surface and really, isn’t this book supposed to be about them? Skeeter is only a vehicle, yet, she is the most thought out character in the novel. I guess I shouldn’t say Skeeter is only a vehicle. It took a lot of courage to do something that would cost you your friendships and life as you know it. I won’t deny that.

I just feel that Stockett fell into the same trap that most Southern white writers do – trying to write about the black perspective but end up really writing about how the white characters are changed and better for it, while we’re left wondering about the black characters – what life do they have? How are they changed? What choices are left for them? How much did they lose? What did they gain? Just freedom? Right.

I was also a little upset over her only portrayal of a black husband was an abusive drinker – but I’m really appreciative of having a Civil Rights era story revolve around black women who didn’t sit at lunch counters – but had the courage to continue to work in a hostile environment – women like my grandmother.

That said, I couldn’t put the book down – which says a lot about the story as a whole. I becam

I have a car with a really curvy dash board, almost impossible to fit a disk and I didn’t care to have it pasted on the windshield leaving rings so the puplic know’s I use one. This one will not move even in a storm. The customer service went way above what was expected and I couldn’t be happier with them and their products..Good Job

This card holds more than 1800, 14.2 mp resolution pictures, from my camera or about an hour of video (assuming your battery lasts that long), so it’s way more card than I really need so far. At first I was thinking about getting a small USB porter to go with it, but since I really don’t need to ever take it out of the camera I just use the mini-USB cable whenever I download pictures. There is no apparent lag, in speed so it’s a perfect card so far.

I chose this product because of a positive review that was detailed in the amount of capacity in terms of how many pictures AND how minutes of video. While on vacation I took A LOT of pictures and quite a number of video clips. I wasn’t disappointed and thankfully so. This vacation was absolutely unforgettable and I wanted pictures and videos to add to the memories. I also had no problem downloading them onto my computer. The pictures are of high quality, which much of that is due to my Canon SD790IS [[ASIN:B0011ZK6OS Canon PowerShot SD790IS 10MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom]. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another one.
