I bought a kindle three months ago and WAS thrilled about it. I took it home and started using it right away. I loved it. It was easy to operate, easy to read from(even in sunlight), and I loved that it could read some of the books to you. But I went to take it out of the case two days ago and half of the screen was completely blank. I tried turning it off and on a couple of times and every time the one half seemed to still be shut off. So the next day, I took it back to the Target where I bought it and they wouldn’t give me my money back. They offered to do an even exchange, however they have now redesigned the kindle to a goth black color that makes me want to vomit. I bought it on a credit card and no longer have the receipt, because I figured that 1) my kindle wouldn’t crap out on me three months after I bought it brand new. 2)Target would keep record of past purchaces. I am very disappointed in the kindle. I am now going to go buy a NOOK. I would highly recomend that if you are considering a kindle, you stop and rethink it. I am very frusterated and discusted with the quality of this product.

Unit arrived in very good condition and on time. Manual is not as easy as could be… still haven’t figured out how to do splits. Upload of data is very impressive, though it has locked up once out of ten tries. PC software no longer displays heart rate, but the web app does. Heart rate monitor is difficult to make contact… had to replace battery. Sometimes it takes the heart rate monitor a while to start recording, and sometimes it skips a few minutes of recording during a course. Over all I do have much more info than I had with a pedometer, just wish the heart rate monitor was more dependable.

I just read Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. The immensely popular young adult fictional story of love, tenderness & vampires in a place called Forks. With its’ popularity legendary in the book world, with over 42 million copies in the series sold worldwide, I bought a copy of Twilight hoping that I wouldn’t be disappointed – and I wasn’t! Remember your first crush? That feeling inside when just the sight of him would make you light headed? Well that’s what Edward does to Bella! He is just too gorgeous, too perfect and unbelievably talented in ways that just seem a bit too… inhuman? As they encounter each other in school he seems to loathe her. She can’t believe she’s done anything to offend him in the short time she’s been in Forks – (she’s the new girl in school) but we find out soon that what seems to be loathing is really Edward trying to control his desires… you see he’s a vampire, but a good kind of vampire, who is unbelievably attracted to Bella. (you’ll have to read the book to find out more – I don’t want to spoil anything!) And soon the story turns magical. It’s first love for both of them and we are the hidden chaperon as they explore getting to know one another. But it’s not all love & kisses here – there are complications in a relationship between a vampire and a human. With all that superhuman strength and blood lust, Edward has to have quite a bit of control. And if that weren’t enough to deal with, as well as the struggles of being a typical teenager day to day, there is a dangerous adventure Bella is about to be swept up into…
Twilight is well written and enjoyable! Bella seems very real and believable. She is a typical 17 year old! Not really a teenager anymore, but not quite an adult. Dealing with her divorced parents and moving to Forks, Washington to live with her dad is just the start of Bella’s story. Pick this book up and be enchanted by Bella & Edward yourself!

The Artemis Fowl series is one of my favorites. It’s written in a way children and adults can enjoy, with creative plot twists and interesting, amusing characters. The book has plenty of humorous bits along with tense moments that will have you neglecting anything else so you can finish reading.

Normally, when writing a book review, I’d start off by saying something good about it, stick all the Debby Downer stuff in the middle, and then finish it off with another round of positivity. But now, thanks to Twilight, this pleasant writing routine I had allowed myself to fall into must be set aside. There is absolutely nothing good I can possibly say about this book. Nothing. So, I guess I get to skip to the moaning, ranting, and griping…
So, story plot in a nutshell: Some average girl goes to a new school, meets a hot guy, who turns out to be (gasp!) a vampire. She falls hopelessly in love with Hot Vampire Guy, and, oddly enough, he falls hopelessly in love with her. But there’s a ‘bad vampire’ after Average Girl (apparently Hot Vampire Guy is classified as a ‘good vampire’) who wants to eat her (this guy is my favorite character). So, Hot Vampire Guy must risk all to save her. Complications inevitably ensue. Hot Vampire Guy wins, and he and Average Girl ride off into the sunset together. The end. On with the criticism…
Let’s start with the protagonist: Bella. Bella is clumsy, bad at sports, and is constantly in danger of bodily harm. She is the quintessential damsel-in-perpetual-distress. Her awkwardness makes her easy to relate to, but other than that, Bella is practically nonexistent. She’s really just a prop–a flowerpot, or a decorative garden gnome– dumped in the middle of the story by the author just so Edward has something to obsess over. She has almost no personality–she’s as boring as a pet rock. Edward’s pet rock, to be precise. The only persona we can really assign to her is that of a whiney, snivelling, brat-faced little kid. She spends the entire novel moaning about how bad she is at sports, obsessing over how gorgeous Edward is, and generally wallowing in her own teenage angst.
Now for Edward… Let’s face it, girls, we are NEVER going to find an Edward Cullen. Anywhere. He’s perfect. He even sparkles. Seriously. In bright sunlight, ou

The FURminator is so easy to use and does the best job. I’ve tried several different brushes and combs for our dogs and cats and nothing works as well as the FURminator. The FURminator doesn’t hurt your animal either like other brushes and combs do. I’ve found since using the FURminator our house is staying cleaner longer now with less hair on the floor and in the air. I highly recommend this product for both dogs and cats!

…this is not included with the car mount. I used the adhesive disc that came with my car mount until I got tired of the sticky mess it left on the dashboard, and really like this mount. It gives a good view of the GPSr and is easy to position when you need to.
